With Forex Trading you get access to 24 hour trading. This being said there are certain peak times to trade each market depending on its location. These are referred to as sessions and the 3 main sessions are the
European Session (London) 07:00 - 16:00 GMT
It is important to not trends in the European sessions because it is the most volatile of the three. It shares its opening hours with the Asian markets and its closing hours with the opening of the North American markets.
North American Session (New York) 12:00 - 21:00 GMT
There is a cross over of four hours between the North American Session and European session. This occurs at the opening hours of the market . During these hours there is considerably higher trading activitiy and volatility. Most economic reports are released at the start of this session because this is when the markets have the highest volatility and liquidity.
Asian Session (Tokyo) 23:00 - 08:00 GMT
This is a very important market for traders looking to trade and invest in asian currency pairs. Trends can be noted when the London market hours coincide with the Tokyo market. This market closes an hour after the European Session opens and after that the main traders consist of central banks and large companies.
